Thanks for reading

This site is about a week old and people have actually been showing up. Mostly from Instagram, some from search, a few from word of mouth. If you are one of them, thank you.

That is genuinely more than I expected this early. A new site with no backlinks and no ad spend usually talks to nobody for a while.

What this is for

The blog is not a content strategy. There is no keyword plan and nothing here was written to rank for anything.

It is a place to write down things worth writing down. Why buckthorn keeps coming back after you cut it. What undervolting actually trades away, and why the physics makes it worth the trouble. Where the water goes when a site drains badly. How a scraper can repair itself when a page changes underneath it. What a migration teaches you about the parts of a system you should leave alone.

Some of it is the land work. Some of it is the compute side. Some of it is software. It is all the same habit: do the thing, then explain how it actually works rather than how it sounds in a brochure.

If a post taught you something, that is the whole goal. If it saved you an afternoon, even better.

The standard

Everything here is written to be checkable. Numbers come with the reasoning attached. When something is uncertain I try to say so instead of rounding up to confidence.

That includes admitting what has gone wrong. There is a post on this blog about a service going down over a billing problem, and one about a migration where the interesting part was discovering that half the plan was based on a wrong assumption. Those are more useful than a highlight reel, and they are more honest.

If you catch something wrong here, tell me. I would rather fix it than have it sit there being wrong.

Still early

More is coming: mining algorithms, the economics underneath them, restoration work through the seasons, and whatever gets built next. There is a lot of it and most has not been written up yet.

Nothing here is gated and nothing asks for your email. Read what is useful, ignore the rest.

The contact page has the ways to reach me. If you are working on something adjacent to any of this, I am always up for that conversation.

Thanks again for being early.
