ResetKit is back online.
ResetKit is auth infrastructure: password reset codes, two-factor authentication, and the dashboard that sits around them. The idea is that these flows are easy to get subtly wrong and painful to maintain, so it is worth having something purpose-built handle them.
It was briefly unreachable. Our hosting provider paused deployments over a billing issue on our end, which took the API down and made reset codes, 2FA, and the dashboard unavailable until it was sorted. To be clear about what that was and was not: a hosting and billing problem, not a security incident, and no customer data was at risk.
Billing is resolved and the service is serving normally again. While the infrastructure had our attention, a few things got fixed that should make it hold up better next time: email delivery now falls back automatically instead of failing outright, signup completes even if a verification email does not send, mobile and iPad rendering is corrected across the marketing and auth pages, and Stripe subscription plans are in alongside crypto payment.
The full write-up, including what we are watching going forward, is on the ResetKit blog.
